Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope you’re enjoying our wonderful Maine summer. As you know, the election is fast approaching on November 8th, and I wanted to reach out and share some of the progress we’ve made together.

My name is Matthew Boucher, and I am proud to have served as your Kennebec County Register of Deeds since 2023. When longtime Register Beverly Bustin-Hatheway retired, I was honored to step into the role and continue her legacy of service with fresh energy and accountability.

With prior experience as an elected municipal official, an Operations and Customer Service Manager, and a small business owner, I brought proven skills in efficient management, customer service, and fiscal responsibility to the Registry. Since taking office, we have delivered on those commitments every day.

As Register of Deeds, I remain deeply committed to the precise maintenance of the records that protect your most important asset your home. My team and I provide excellent customer service to title lawyers, abstractors, surveyors, and all members of the public who rely on our office. We have also taken proactive steps to safeguard property owners by implementing a property alert system at the Kennebec County Registry of Deeds. This important new tool helps alert property owners to any activity on their records, providing an extra layer of protection against title fraud and unauthorized changes.

The Registry of Deeds may not be the most exciting office on the ballot, but it is essential to protecting property rights and supporting our communities. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you these past years, and I humbly ask for your continued vote and support so we can keep delivering results for Kennebec County.

Best Regards,

Hon. Matthew Boucher

Accuracy

Ensuring precise records is the foremost duty of the Register of Deeds, a responsibility I take seriously. As a former Operations Manager and your elected Register of Deeds, I have enhanced document integrity and achieved 100% compliance while maintaining an accurate and efficient workflow.

Efficiency

In my role as Register of Deeds, I oversee the Registry's operations. I am dedicated to responsibly managing your tax dollars, consistently staying under budget while maximizing revenue, eliminating waste, and providing the highest value to Kenne County taxpayers.

Modernization

Record keeping has significantly transformed over the years. I have already modernized essential processes in the office and will continue to advocate for new technologies and best practices, leveraging from state and national Register of Deeds associations to enhance and lower operational costs.

Customer Service

With years of experience in customer service and now leading Registry, I recognize that government must treat the public the true decision-makers with respect and excellence. I remain committed to providing outstanding customer service title lawyers, abstractors, surveyors, and every citizen who engages with the Registry of Deeds.
